Dear Ms. Heinrich,
Thank you very much for your kind e-mail.
The Embassy of Japan would like to express our sincere gratitude for your warm words of sympathy and support for the victims of the earthquake and tsunami disaster.  The Government of Japan, along with not only the people of the affected region but all of Japan, is resolved to overcome the present difficult situation.

We would also like to thank you for your kind offer to present a painting to the Ambassador.  The Embassy is open on weekdays from 9.30 to 1.00 and 2.00 to 5.00 and we would be delighted to have the opportunity to meet you in person.  As you can imagine, the Ambassador has a busy schedule and is not always available, but the Second Secretary in the Embassy’s Press and Cultural Affairs Section, Mr. Yasuhiro Yamauchi, looks forward to meeting you on the Ambassador’s behalf.

Thank you very much again for you concern for the people of Japan.

Kindest regards,

Jenny O’Connor
